| Show Off Reception June 7 Formerly known as the All Hung show, our open-call, open-themed, unjuried multimedia exhibit is back and this time it’s called Show Off. YAH team member Becka Marsh pulled together this great collection and you can see all of the submissions from May 31 through July 12. Show Off features both emerging and experienced artists ages 16 and up. With 2-D and 3-D art in various styles and on many different subjects, you’re bound to find something to catch your eye. If you’ve got art in the show and/or you’d like to meet the artists, please join us for the Show Off reception on June 7 from 6-8 PM. It’s free and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you there! Oh Scrap! For Summer Fun Visit Oh Scrap! for all your summertime maker needs. It’s a great place to find just the thing you didn’t know you needed to complete a project. We’ve got tons of yarn, sewing supplies, scrapbooking goodies, jewelry findings, crayons, paints, papers, and more. We’ve also got crafts and kits to keep your little creatives busy during summer break. Donations to Oh Scrap are gratefully accepted during gallery hours. (Please do not leave them on the porch.) We cannot accept clothing; holiday decor; sea shells; sheets of glass; oil-based paints in cans; anything toxic, rusty, or leaking; computer or electronic equipment; sport items; household furniture; or power tools. | Become a Sponsor: Beyond Boundaries In July and August, You Are Here will host Beyond Boundaries, a collection of works by artists living with physical or intellectual disabilities. Curated by Jen Costello, this exhibition features 12 Southwestern Pennsylvania artists with diverse visions working in a variety of media. The exhibition showcases works by artists defying the limitations that are implied by the term “disability.” Beyond Boundaries will occupy YAH from July 26 through August 30. Events will include an opening reception on July 26; an artists’ talk on August 2 featuring exhibition artists Laken Hoover and Kara Snyder, Art-Z head instructor Becka Marsh, and art historian Maureen Kochanek; and a three-session papier maché mask-making workshop presented by exhibition curator Jen Costello. All events are open to the public. The reception and artists’ talk are free. The workshop is open to the public for a supply fee, but available to interested Art-Z class participants at no cost. We are seeking sponsors to help defray the costs of the Beyond Boundaries activities; your gift will help us provide stipends for presenting artists and a workshop assistant, cover workshop supplies, hire a sign language interpreter, obtain signage, compensate the exhibit installer, and more. Sponsorship levels: Sponsors donating $100+ will be represented on all public outreach associated with the Beyond Boundaries show and events, as well as on gallery signage and on the You Are Here website. Donors from $10 to $100 will be mentioned by name. Sponsors will be verbally thanked at the opening reception (expected attendance of 100-150) and at the artist talk. All will receive an acknowledgement for tax purposes. And of course, all sponsors and donors will have our sincere and lasting thanks!!
